What is Road Tax Fee?

The Road Tax Fee is part of a government road usage reform in Iceland. Road funding is moving away from fuel taxes at the pump and toward a usage based model.
For rental cars, the fee is 12 EUR per rental day (including administration fee) and is collected in advance.
