The Road Tax Fee is part of a government road usage reform in Iceland. Road funding is moving away from fuel taxes at the pump and toward a usage-based model.
The Road tax Fee of 8 ISK per kilometer driven will be calculated and charged after the vehicle is returned, based on your actual usage.
