All Geysir rentals include a compulsory Collision Damage Waiver, this waiver carries an ISK 350.000 excess fee. To further ease your mind we can offer to further lower the excess fee by taking on a Super Collision Damage Waiver. The Super CDW lowers the excess fee to ISK 45.000 – 60.000 depending on the type of the vehicle.

Unpaved roads are very common in Iceland. As you head into the wilderness you are more than likely to drive across gravel sections. Geysir offers Gravel Protection as an optional damage waiver which covers damages from gravel roads to the body of the car, the headlights and the front windscreen.

Lose ash and fine grained sand covers parts of Iceland in the aftermath of various volcanic activities in recent years. On a windy day this whirls up and blows towards anything in it’s path and gives it an undesired dull, matte finish. This can cause serious damage to the car windows, paint, etc. - unfortunately the Icelandic insurance companies do not include this kind of damage in their CDW policies. Geysir offers Sand and Ash Protection as an optional damage waiver which covers damages from sand and ash damages.
